About Billie Kantlie

Billie was born in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to Pakistani parents who later got divorced. His parents are moderate Muslims, but spending a chunk of his life in Muslim majority Pakistan there were several things that impacted the quality of his life resulting in him leaving Islam. 

 

Billie Kantlie is now a left-leaning liberal atheist who blames the patriarchy (along with Islamic teachings) for the more sordid events of his life.

 

He has made it a point to depart from the types of lives typical Pakistani men lead, constantly trying to reform and improve himself. 

 

But living his life as a cultural Muslim he always felt muted in some ways. So he created this blog to pen down his thoughts and live a more authentic life. 

 

Kantlie works in London for a marketing firm and moonlights as a parent. Or maybe it's the other way round. But he wants to improve his activism and increase his engagement with like-minded people by writing more frequently after feeling muted in his day to day life.
